Laura Wexler, Professor of American Studies and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and Director of the Photographic Memory Workshop at Yale, moderates a discussion related to Weems’s Grace Notes with leading scholars of photography, history, art, and ethics. Panelists include Willie Jennings, Associate Professor of Systematic Theology and Africana Studies, Yale University; Nell Irvin Painter, Edwards Professor Emerita of American History, Princeton University; Susan Cahan, Lecturer in Art and Associate Dean for the Arts, Yale University; and Daphne Brooks, Professor of African American Studies and Theater Studies, Yale University. Organized by the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. The panel discussion will be held in the Robert L. McNeil, Jr., Lecture Hall.
