Mobilizing Morality: Migrant Domestic Workers in Dubai
Rhacel Salazar Parreñas, USC

Professor of Sociology and Chair of the Sociology Department at USC; currently on fellowship leave as a Deutsche Bank Member of the School of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, NJ (2015-2016). Parreñas is known for her work on women’s labor and migration in economic globalization. Based on field research in the United Arab Emirates and the Philippines, her talk will address the labor conditions of domestic workers in Dubai via a discussion of their food consumption.
