Part of a film series hosted by the Whitney Humanities Center at Yale entitled, “Identity & Representation in the Obama Era,” that will showcase experimental and documentary films that draw on the archive and/or personal memoir as sources of inspiration to explore contemporary issues around identity and representation.
This public screening series is part of a Yale School of Art course entitled Strategies of Visual Memoir in Art Practice taught by award-winning Thomas Allen Harris and cross-listed with Film Studies. The series will also run in tandem with a related exhibition by Harris and the students in his course, entitled Digital Diaspora Family Reunion: Turning Strangers into Family at the Whitney Humanities Center Gallery.
