My research centers of relational AfroAsian formations of race, cultural productions, and histories of solidarities. In particular, I examine water as an analytic connecting histories of transatlantic slavery and transpacific imperialism. Water is more than a chemical substance of decomposition, separation, and neutralization; instead, I consider it a queer and aesthetic site for illuminating diasporic intimacies between Black and Asian life. I am also committed to critical university studies as a field and practice, and currently serve as a Fellow for the Yale Prison Education Initiative.
