Duke Feminist Theory Workshop (FTW) Application

About

The Feminist Theory Workshop (FTW) has, since the first gathering in 2007, promoted diverse dialogue among scholars of feminist theory and fostered a vibrant intellectual community. To that end, each year the workshop brings together internationally recognized keynote speakers and emerging young scholars to engage in lively and focused debate.

The “workshop” approach of this conference requires active participation of both presenters and attendees.  Seminars allow for focused participant exchange, roundtables synthesize central debates of the weekend, and provocative keynote lectures all bring those who attend the workshop into collaborative conversations.

The next workshop will be held at Duke University on March 20-21, 2026.

Yale is an Institutional Co-Sponsor of the Duke FTW, and the Program in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) can support transportation and lodging for 2-3 graduate student attendees. If you are interested in attending the 2026 workshop, please fill out the brief application below no later than Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 5:00 PM. You will be asked to write a brief statement (no more than 250 words) explaining why you wish to attend the Duke Feminist Theory Workshop, and why it makes sense for you to do so this year.
